On June 15, 2021, Netflix announced a collaboration with CLAMP and WIT Studio to make an original anime series based on Grimm’s Fairy Tales. CLAMP will be in charge of the character designs. Meanwhile, WIT Studio will be handling the animation production of the series. 4v2x73
CLAMP is a group of all-female Japanese manga artists. It is led by Nanase Ohkawa and has three artists whose roles change with each series: Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. In addition, CLAMP is known for creating xxxHolic and Cardcaptor Sakura.
WIT Studio is a Japanese animation studio best recognized for its work on the hit anime series Attack on Titan. They also produced the series Seraph of the End and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. What’s more, is that they are the ones behind the jaw-dropping original anime series Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song.
Grimm’s Fairy Tales is a German collection of fairy tales written by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, also known as “Brothers Grimm”. It was first published on 20 December 1812. Moreover, the original edition had 86 stories, and by the seventh edition, published in 1857, there were 210 distinct fairy tales.
