Wash It All Away (Kirei ni Shitemoraemasu ka) officially announced a TV anime for 2026, revealing the main staff and cast. Sayumi Suzushiro will voice Wakana Kinme, while studio Okuruto Noboru will be in charge of the animation.
The anime will be directed by Kenta Onishi, with Toko Machida in charge of series composition and script, and Azuma Tozawa as the character designer.
A teaser visual was also released for the anime.
Voice actress Suzushiro commented on her casting:
“When I first read the original manga, I was deeply moved by Hattori-sensei’s stunning illustrations of Atami and the depth of the world of dry cleaning—a subject I knew nothing about. I still how happy I felt when I received the news that I got the role. The next day, I even brought clothes to the cleaners after a long while ♪. Kinme’s sole remaining memory is about cleaning, and the people and stories she encounters through her work are truly captivating. I will do my best in bringing her to life!”
Wash It All Away (Kirei ni Shite Moraemasu ka) is a manga series by Mitsuru Hattori. It was serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine from July 2017 to June 2023. The complete story is compiled into ten collected volumes. Square Enix is also publishing it in English, describing the story:
For two years, Wakana Kinme has run a laundry service in the seaside resort town of Atami. Kinme Cleaning is a well-loved business, and Atami residents ire Wakana’s devotion to her trade. She builds a fulfilling life making friends with the locals and visiting hot springs. Although Wakana has no knowledge of her own past, her cleaning services safeguard memories imbued in customers’ precious items.
Author Mitsuru Hattori also shared a congratulatory message accompanied by a new illustration of Kinme.
“The anime adaptation was decided quite some time ago, I believe right before the release of Volume 9. Since then, I’ve enjoyed watching the anime take shape slowly but steadily. I hope everyone looks forward to seeing Kinme and the others come to life through animation.”
