WEBTOON Entertainment has announced its official programming and featured attendees for Anime Expo 2025, taking place July 3-6 in Los Angeles. The company will host a series of s, cr., marking its debut on the Anime Expo show floor.
The main highlight of WEBTOON’s participation will be the first-ever U.S. appearance of SIU, creator of Tower of God. SIU is scheduled for two public gs at WEBTOON’s booth (E-90) in the Entertainment Hall on July 4 and July 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. PT. Additional creator gs include uru-chan (unOrdinary), Brandon Chen (Just a Goblin, Overtime Elite), Junepurrr (SubZero), and Red (School Bus Graveyard).
WEBTOON’s programming will feature four discussions, focused on the growing relationship between webcomics and anime:
- The Art of Battle: Creating High-Impact Fights in Manga and Webcomics – Thursday, July 3 at 1:30 p.m. PT (Room 402AB)
- The Art of Leveling Up: Deg Power Systems in Anime, Manga, and Webcomics – Friday, July 4 at 5:15 p.m. PT (Room 411)
- The Fans Go Wild: Sports, Anime, and Webcomics in Pop Culture – Saturday, July 5 at 6:15 p.m. PT (Room 411)
- Anime, Animation, and Webcomics: What’s Next? – Sunday, July 6 at 2:45 p.m. PT (Room 411)
s will include appearances by creators and WEBTOON staff, discussing storytelling techniques, genre evolution, and adaptation pipelines between webcomics and animated formats.
In addition to programming, the WEBTOON booth will offer exclusive merchandise, including a Tower of God poster and daily item drops, along with interactive features such as games, photo ops, and collectible g cards.
The Anime Expo announcement comes one month after WEBTOON introduced several platform-level updates on May 8, 2025. These include:
- AI-Powered Personalized Recommendations, leveraging data to improve series suggestions
- “New & Hot” Tab featuring animated previews of trending series
- Enhanced Keyword-Based Search, allowing thematic discovery beyond title-based search
- Full-Series Unlock Option, enabling bulk access to completed series
According to internal testing data released by WEBTOON, the new features led to a 9.3% increase in episodes read per during the pilot phase.
The recent updates also followed the platform’s latest expansion of content formats, including the launch of full-color, vertically reformatted editions of Japanese manga titles From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman.
